FAPP_MED100: Medical Safety and Practical Emergency Response

About Course

This course includes an overview of the crewmember’s responsibilities and procedures relating to the different situations on board such as:

  • Cabin fire procedure, de-escalation skills, practical emergency procedures and medical safety principles including occupational health and safety regulations, risk assessment, general onboard medical protocols, including an introduction to basic first response principles.
  • Students will demonstrate their skills and knowledge in preparing for a mock flight, starting with pre-flight crew briefing and ending with emergency evacuation.

Upon completion of this course the successful student will have reliably demonstrated the ability to:
● Analyze cabin crew responsibilities and emergency procedures, including cabin fire and medical safety principles.
● Recognize signs of common onboard medical emergencies. ● Summarize the basic principles of general onboard medical protocols relevant to air travel.
● Evaluate health and safety regulations and risk assessment strategies to identify and mitigate hazards.
● Create an emergency response plan, including a pre-flight crew briefing and evacuation procedures.
